Welcome to our fresher and brighter website for children in care and care leavers in Bromley. Lockdown has really made the world think about how we communicate with each other and during this time we realised how important it is to have a place where you can visit to find up to date information from us. So we’ve created a site that is easier to interact with and of course mobile phone friendly. It seemed the perfect time to update our website as one of the best ways of being able to share information with each other now and into the future. This is especially important during the pandemic as advice and guidelines have been changing to adapt to our new circumstances. As most of you have returned to schools, colleges and jobs, it remains really important to stay alert and keep safe from the virus. We will do our best to keep you as safe as we can and hope that you do your best to keep those around you safe too.

Coming into care can be a confusing and difficult time, there are so many things to think about and so many to take in. We have created a website to help support you on your journey. There is lots of information here on the website to help you understand the role of your social worker and foster carer, for example, as well as information explaining what a ‘looked after review’ is and the role of your reviewing officer. We also aim to use the website as a noticeboard to stay in touch. We have included information about activities you can get involved in. We appreciate that moving on and becoming more independent can be exciting but can also present new challenges. For our older young people there is information about resources and support for care leavers, as well as an introduction to the leaving care team in Bromley. We will be updating these pages regularly so you won’t ever miss out.
