Celebration of Achievement

This year on the 19 February, we held our annual Celebration of Achievement Event at The Warren. It’s a wonderful opportunity for all to celebrate the incredible accomplishments our brilliant young people have achieved over the past year and this year was no exception.
The Celebration of Achievement gives young people a platform to reflect on their progress, share what they’re proud of, and be celebrated by their peers in a memorable way.

As Corporate Parents we are committed to providing the encouragement, opportunities and support our Young People need to reach their full potential. When they succeed, we are always delighted to recognise and celebrate them throughout the year and especially at this event.

This year’s event was brought to life by our fantastic hosts, Sally Kelly, Headteacher of the Virtual School, and the Chair of the Living in Care Council (LinCC). Together, they ensured the evening flowed beautifully – filled with Warmth, energy, laughter, smiles and unforgettable moments.

Our ceremony was opened by Janet Bailey, Director for Children’s Services, and Sally Kelly Both took the opportunity to congratulate our award winners and expressed how proud they were as corporate parents of all our children’s achievements.

Each year, we include an activity that highlights the importance of achieving together. This year’s we hosted a bin‑bag fashion show in which, each table designed a costume using a large bin bag and a selection of accessories. The creativity on display was outstanding, and it’s fair to say we may have some future designers and models among us.

We also enjoyed some fun games including our own bushtucker trials where YP won prizes for being brave enough to and trying all sorts of foods – including crickets!, Which then led to a big Conga line forming around the hall, it was a delightful sight.

In total Over 80 children & Young people were celebrated for achievements ranging from educational, sporting, arts and life skills achievements. The atmosphere was electric and it was a real joy to celebrate their achievements with them.
After a wonderful meal, in what was the highlight of the evening Mayor Cllr Andrews, individually gave our children their awards. Our children and young people had huge smiles and a sense of pride whilst standing with the mayor to receive their award – a truly unforgettable moment.

Other special moments

During our Celebration of Achievement event, we hosted a talent show for our young people and they took to the stage to showcase their skills and talents for an unforgettable talent show. we were fortunate to witness some powerful singing, a captivating mime and a wonderful dance routine.

Also Viva La Foto photography captured the most beautiful portraits throughout the evening and printed them straight away so that our children took away a precious keepsake from the event.
