Black History Month – October 2020
Join Us
We are running a series of activities in October designed to celebrate black history with our young people. Since June we have held monthly online conversations with some of you and staff about race and racism, to offer a space to share your experiences and explore with you what we can do as a service to continue to support our care population. It was in this group that some of you expressed the need for coming together to do something in recognition of black history.
The programme has been designed for everyone to come together, learn and celebrate. We wanted to offer some face to face sessions and are following the youth sector guidance on delivering group activities during Covid. The National Youth Agency guidance acknowledges that we can hold sessions young people even in light of the new restrictions, however these sessions will have smaller numbers to enable effective social distancing procedures to be followed.
