As your corporate parents we’re really proud of you, and like any parent / child relationship you should be able to come to us about any concerns you may have. We’ve put together some advice and encouraging words for you guys!
If you’re feeling alone , they’re a groups you can join where you can meet peers from a similar background to yourself and have your voices heard. They are called the Living in Care Council (LinCC) and the Change for Care Leavers (CfCL).

- Life is about choices. Some choices that you will be presented with might be good and that some may be bad but they will be choices all the same. Be sure that you understand the consequences of the choices that you make.
- “It’s okay to feel scared and uncertain. It is the job of your social worker, and the people that care for you to help you to feel safe and comfortable”
- “You are not alone and while your journey is your own, there are lots of other young people with similar experiences to you”
- “Try to tell people how you are feeling”
- “You are entitled to a mentor/independent advisor who you can talk to”
